MFA Multi-factor authentication

By enabling multi-factor authentication your users will log into their Atlas account using their email or username and password, plus a 6 digit code from an authenticator app.

An authenticator app is downloaded to your users device from the app store and helps you sign into your accounts when you're using two-step verification.

To enable MFA for one user:

  • Click on Users.
  • Click the {...} button to the right of the user’s name and select View/Edit User Details.
  • Toggle the Enable multi-factor authentication (MFA)? to Yes.
  • Then select Save changes.

To enable MFA for all active users:

  • Click on Users.
  • Click the {...} button next to the 'Add a user' button.
  • Then select Enable MFA

To disable MFA for all active users:

  • Click on Users.
  • Click the {...} button next to the 'Add a user' button.
  • Then select Disable MFA

When your user logs in to their Atlas account, they will be invited to download an authenticator app to their device, or if they already have one, proceed to link their app to their account.

They will then be invited to scan the QR code or copy and paste the credentials.

Then add the code.

Selecting Reset MFA will allow a user to setup MFA with a new device, if for example they lost their old one or have upgraded or have any issues logging in.

  • Click on Users.
  • Click the {...} button to the right of the user’s name and select View/Edit User Details.
  • Select the Reset MFA button on the top right of the page.
  • Then click on Reset MFA button to confirm.
